Library Offers 24 Hour Exam Access

Beginning today, Wednesday, April 25, the Library will offer students with a valid ID card 24-hour access to the Library building. Please note that our Circulation and Reserve Desk hours remain the same during finals.

Extended access will end at 10 pm on Friday, May 11. If you plan to give your family a campus tour, please do so before the extended hours end, as the Library will be closed (and without card access) during Commencement on Saturday, May 12.

Good luck with your exams!

National Library Week: Day 5

Thanks to all who participated in National Library Week! We had a smaller than expected turnout this year (probably because this is the last full week of classes), but we received many positive comments about the puzzles. (Well, except for Thursday's, which was, admittedly, challenging.)

The 2007 winners list can be downloaded (it's a Microsoft Word document). All the answers for the puzzles can be found on my door. And, of course, if you somehow missed the puzzles themselves, we have them posted on our National Library Week page.

Thanks again to the participants and the vendors! Mark your calendar for next year: April 13-19!

National Library Week: Day 4

Today is the last day to celebrate National Library Week with one of our fiendishly difficult puzzles! Today is a cryptogram (three, in fact), but if you need a little help cracking the codes, stop by the Circulation Desk for one of our three hints. If you're downloading the puzzles at home, you can find our newest puzzle (as well as the rest of them) posted at http://www.asl.edu/library/nlw.php.

The prize drawing will be tomorrow at 10 am. You do not need to be present to win. Good luck!

National Library Week: Day 3

As the week goes on, the puzzles get harder! Today's puzzle deals with more tax terms. How many can you identify, given certain letters? Find out by checking out our National Library Week puzzle page.

Update (2 pm): Whoops! If you downloaded a copy of today's puzzle before two pm, you may have found a typo! Feel free to download the corrected version. I've already made note of the people who have turned in puzzles earlier today. (See how hard these puzzles really are?)

National Library Week: Day 2

ASL's celebration of National Library Week continues with puzzling our patrons -- today's stumper is a special word search. This week's theme is "TAXES" (as today is tax filing day for the US), and today we look at "Tax Breaks." Links to our puzzles can be found on our web site.

National Library Week: Day 1

Happy National Library Week! For the fifth consecutive year, the Library provides law-related puzzles for you to complete for a chance to win prizes! See our National Library Week page to download each day's puzzle (Monday through Thursday). Then on Friday, we'll pull the puzzles out of the box and distribute prizes (thanks to LexisNexis and Westlaw for providing the goodies). The prize distribution is limited to current faculty, staff, and students. Stop by the Circulation Desk if you have questions!
