Extended Exam Hours Begin Nov 28

Beginning on Sunday night, November 28, the Library will offer extended access hours to students with a valid ID. Instead of closing the Library at midnight, we'll be staying open until 2 am throughout the exam period. Good luck with exams!

Extended access ends at 5 pm on Friday, December 10.

If you need a new ID, stop by the Circulation Desk (there is a $5 charge).

Thanksgiving Break hours

The Library will have modified hours during Thanksgiving Break 2010.

We will have normal operating hours through Tuesday, November 23.

On Wednesday, November 24, we will have card access from 6 am to noon, with Library staff available from 9 am to noon. There will be no "after-hours" access on Wednesday afternoon or evening.

We will be closed all day on Thanksgiving Day itself (Thursday, November 25).

We will have card access hours for students from 10 am to 7 pm on Friday, November 26, and Saturday, November 27. There will be no staffed hours those days, and there will be no public access either.

Regular hours will return on Sunday, November 28 (we open at 1 pm).

Judge Williams Collection ceremony

U.S. District Court Judge Glen M. Williams (W.D. Va.) recently retired and donated his personal collection to the Appalachian School of Law. In honor of his retirement, his former law clerks held a reunion dinner for him this summer and presented a plaque to him. This plaque will be permanently displayed at ASL along with his personal collection. We are honored to be the recipient of Judge Williams’ personal collection, highlighting his thirty-four years of service as a federal judge.

There will be a reception in his honor for invited guests on Friday, November 12, at 3:30 p.m. in the Lions Lounge. Materials from the Williams Collection will be on display in the Trial Courtroom after a short presentation.

There is a trifold brochure highlighting the collection, and a longer document identifying the major contents of the collection.
