The ASL Library's extended exam hours have begun. Instead of closing at midnight, we now will close at 2 am. These extended hours will end on Friday, December 11, at 5 pm, when we close for Winter Break.

Westlaw OnePass Password Change

In case you didn't see the announcement, Westlaw is updating how it does passwords. If you're one of the few who still use the Westlaw-provided password to access Westlaw or TWEN, you'll need to convert to a Westlaw OnePass with a username and password that you create.

As you log on to Westlaw, you'll get a reminder that you must upgrade before February 1, 2010. Change your password by clicking on the "Update Now" button. Create a custom username (we strongly encourage you to use an e-mail address, which is bound to be unique). Then create a password following the same rules as your e-mail password (uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and/or some symbols).

If you created a Westlaw OnePass username and password during registration, then you should continue to use it. However, if your password isn't strong enough, you may be asked to update it.

For problems, please call 1-800-WESTLAW and say "OnePass" when instructed to. You can also look for online help at Westlaw's OnePass Customer Support page.

Update (November 4, 2009) - Some troubleshooting tips to try:
* Try typing your username in all capital letters. For example, if your username was bob@asl.edu, try BOB@ASL.EDU with your normal password. (Thanks for the tip, Kelli McS!)
* Try going through the registration process again. On the normal Westlaw home page, click on the orange "Register Password" button. Then click on the link that says "Updating Your Account Information?" You can use your old Westlaw-assigned password if you still have access to that.
* Go directly to Westlaw's OnePass Registration page to determine if you already have a OnePass set up.
