National Puzzle Day 2007!

Today is National Puzzle Day. Since we often create puzzles for National Library Week (April 15-21 this year), we thought we'd provide a "warm-up" for those of you who may need a little practice. Today's puzzle is a logic puzzle about filing tax returns. Can you determine the names of the people involved, their jobs, and how they filed their returns?

The 2007 National Puzzle Day puzzle (Tax Time!) is here.

If you need a little more practice, be sure to check out our collection of puzzles from years past at http://www.asl.edu/library/nlw.php.

No prizes today, but we will have some in April! I'll post the answers on my door on Friday. Good luck!

Studying for the Bar Exam: Practice!

The National Conference of Bar Examiners -- the folks who create the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) -- have created a practice test on their web site. A short-term subscription is $26 (it's a February-July or July-February term). The site keeps track of your scores, and also provides annotations for both the correct and incorrect answers on each question.

A direct link is here:

The ASL Library has some older MBE practice questions (with answers) available at the Circulation Desk for a two-hour checkout.

Inclement Weather Policy

We're sorry the snow didn't stick around long enough to delay the first day of the (*ehem*) Spring Semester. But now's a good time to review ASL's Inclement Weather Policy. That policy can be found on our web page at
http://www.asl.edu/general/inclementWeatherPolicy.php

If you have children in the public school systems, you will want to watch Channels 5 and 11 for up-to-date listings, or check these web sites:
