Lexis and Westlaw Access (Summer 2016)

As students head out for summer break, Lexis and Westlaw access may change for some. Here's what you'll need to know for this summer's research projects.

CONTINUING STUDENTS
* Lexis - Your Lexis access will continue uninterrupted throughout the summer. You are encouraged to use the service during 1L externships, but you can also use it for law review or for research assistance for professors.

* Westlaw - Westlaw usually drops you to a more limited service plan over the summer. To continue to use the "school year" plan, stop by Thomson Reuters Summer Password Extension page and follow the steps to re-register for summer access. Please note that you must be enrolled in the 1L externship program, or working on law review or for a professor.

CLASS OF 2016
* Lexis - Your Lexis access will continue through June 30. You will then be changed to a "Graduate Account," which allows some access for bar study and job searching. The Graduate Account will expire on December 31, 2016.

* Westlaw - Your Westlaw access will continue through November 30, 2016.

If you have questions about either of these services, send an e-mail to Chris, and he'll forward it along to the appropriate vendor for an answer.
